   About Columbia Mist Alpacas

Our breeding goal since 1998 is to focus on raising the highest quality of mainly colored huacaya alpacas as evidenced by outstanding pedigrees, elite histograms, impeccable conformation and consistent top ribbon winners in the largest alpaca shows. Our herd is comprised mostly of Peruvian/Accoyo and Chilean/Accoyo blends with 1/2 to 3/4 Accoyo in each offspring.

We have used Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) as tools to further differentiate outstanding alpacas since 2008. We also sort our fiber and keep an individual record on each alpaca since 2008 to provide further data for our fleece development program and to maximize profits from our fiber harvests.

Due to our desire to be more active with our church and charities such as Quechua Benefit, of which Daryl is President, you will not find us in the halter ring at this point after showing in the ring for 10 years and then four years winning fleece ribbons in some of the largest shows around the U.S. We continue to breed some of the highest quality alpacas for sale in the U.S.

Please feel free to contact my Independent Appraiser, Amanda Vandenbosch, Sr. AOA Judge/Trainer at 831.809.1147 or amandafda@earthlink.net or me at dgohl@columbiamistalpacas.com or503.407.5943 for more information. Mike Safely, a renown alpaca breeder, author, and past Sr. AOA Judge has also evaluated our herd and may also be contacted for an independent consult at 503.703.6020. He is also available for hands on evaluations.

We continue to offer mentoring and consulting services free of charge to those who make alpaca purchases from us. Daryl is past president of an AOA Affiliate and served over 3 1/2 years on the AOBA Judge Training and Certification Committee. Come and see us or call today, if you would like to benefit from our experience in successfully raising alpacas.

Consistent Quality you can Measure! These types of alpacas sell for the highest prices and are in great demand!
