   About High Point Farm

Fountain House is a professional self help program and not for profit organization operated by men and women recovering from mental illness in collaboration with professional and caring staff. The emphasis is on relationships and rehabilitation. Members engage in Fountain House to regain productivity and self confidence, resume their lives and re-enter society.

Founded in 1948, Fountain House has served a total of more than 16,000 men and women. The innovative clubhouse model is today the basis for more than 400 similar programs in 32 countries around the world.

A rural extension of Fountain House; High Point Farm is a working farm that Fountain House members share in operating, and a natural resource which they take part in conserving. High Point Farm occupies 12 acres of the site and includes a 14 room chalet that sleeps 18 people. The remaining acreage is a certified American Tree Farm. Members come to the farm on a weekly basis and take part in tending to the livestock Alpacas, Llamas and chickens, work in the garden and orchard and maintain the buildings, grounds and pastures. Members share too, in keeping the chalet in order and in cooking and serving their own meals.

The farm offers a special chance to trade city traffic and stresses for country space, peace and quiet.
