About Log Cabin Farm Alpacas, LLC

Log Cabin Farm Alpacas LLC is home to very fine quality Huacaya Alpacas from nationally recognized bloodlines. We are also home to "Alpaca Jackets & More".

Our farm is located just below the crest of the green rolling hills of East Albany Vermont. We have found that our cool summers and very cold winters, brings out the best in the Alpaca fleece. Makes sense doesn't it?

Our summer hillside pastures are covered with succulent green grasses, and the fresh and clean mountain air and cool brisk temperatures, all contribute to healthy and happy, densely fibered ribbon winners. Our girls get plenty of exercise and it shows in solid conformation and great structure.

We got our start raising alpacas, as a natural migration from running an organic produce farm and participation in local farmers markets and local fairs. Along the way, we met the Alpaca People and their animals and wanted to learn more. We read all that we could find about these lovely camelids and visited with local breeders to gain more knowledge.

After we felt we had done our due diligence and gained confidence, and since our 10 acres of rolling hillsides is covered with succulent green grasses and our fresh and clean mountain air seemed perfect for alpacas, we went ahead and purchased our first four animals in late summer 2007.

We selected the very best bloodlines that we could afford in order to give us a few years boost on breeding our girls up and we found ourselves establishing a small herd with excellent qualities.

As our farm has grown, we probably overdue it with attention to detail. From sampling our pasture soils for mineral analysis, testing field grass protein levels, bio-security and our quality fencing; to the monthly veterinarian farm visits needed our not, we keep a close and watchful eye on herd health and security. The results show.

Our approach is simple. Keep our Alpaca operation small enough in order to devote detailed care and attention to our alpaca and always taking special considerations for wise breeding choices. Along the way, we show our Alpacas at select AOBA events in order to check and validate our breeding program. The ribbons we have won prove that we are on the right track.

Our goals are to breed exceptional, quality alpacas for conformity, fleece, and genetics. We have top quality animals for sale and we offer affordable breedings to our ribbon winning studs When you are ready, Call us to schedule a farm visit. We'd love to meet you and talk 'paca.
