About Virginia KuneKunes - livestock Sales

   About Virginia KuneKunes

I serve as President, Registrar, Treasurer, and Regional Director of the American KuneKune Pig Society I am one of the four original founders of AKKPS. I write articles about the History and Bloodlines of KuneKunes as well as other various articles for our educational section and for the newsletter called Pig Tales. I write articles for the American Livestock Magazine and I am a blogger for Grit Magazine on the topic of KuneKune Pigs. So we are very active in the breed. We are members of the British KuneKune Society, New Zealand KuneKune Society and AKPR (American KuneKune Pig Registry and former American KuneKune Breeder's Association) as well. We try to be as active as possible with KuneKune Pigs here in the USA. We feel this helps us be knowledgeable about this amazing breed and my history working in a vet clinic for 4 years adds to our knowledge so that we may provide you with excellent pigs/piglet

Here is our story: Our lives have really changed since our introduction into the kunekunes. We now share our lives with multiple kunekunes and have one of the largest and most diverse herds in the state of Virginia. Our Hobby Farm has really grown. It has been a "love affair" since we brought our dear Ziggy home that cold February afternoon . We are dedicated to our animals and their welfare. We pride ourselves on our integrity and willingness not to make a sale but, to truly assist people in finding top quality breeding stock, homesteading pigs and pets to fit their individual and family needs. We are here to assist you every step of the way from selecting your stock, to feeding and care and so much more. Our support does not end when you leave our property but, we are happy to help and give guidance and suggestions whenever you need us.

My husband, Scott and I maintain a small acre farm in Dinwiddie, VA. We share our life with our beautiful granddaughters (3 of them). Leanna is our first granddaughter and you will see her with us most every weekend. She is a wonderful socializer for our animals. She has assisted in showing, training and even delivering babies at only 7 year old. We are trying to instill the old fashioned values of less electronics/TV and more family farm life to teach her responsibility and caring for something other than herself.

We both have long time careers as well. We have dogs, cats and kunekunes on our small acre farm. We have been raising, training and competing in agility, obedience and conformation dog showing for 10+ years. (We own Rockland Australian Shepherds.) My husband is from New Jersey and was born a city boy! Well, country girl meets city boy! I was able to show him a totally new way of life. He has done some amazing things at our farm in building fences, houses and more.

Please read our reviews on our Testimonials page as well as http://www.rocklandaussies.com/ and hear first hand the way we are with our animals and families that trust us to provide them with quality. We hope that you will have the opportunity to visit our home and enjoy the animals.
