   About Harmony Hills Farm Alpacas

My husband Lance and I (Jori) purchased our 31 acre farm in 2006 and began raising alpacas in 2008. We named it Harmony Hills Farm because of our love for music and in particular, our love for harmony in music. Because of that, many of the animals born here on the farm have musical or song names. I first saw an advertisement about the joy of alpacas in the late 90's while on a transcontinental flight. The seed was planted and when we bought the farm, I told Lance, "NOW, we can get alpacas!!". Lance is the "facilities guy". He has planned the layout of the pastures and designed and/or built the barns and shelters on the farm. He makes sure the infrastructure is in place and is in charge of making sure many of the day to day operations of the farm run smoothly. I am the "fiber gal". I am in charge of getting the fleece sorted and deciding how and where it will be processed as well as what it will be processed into. I have most recently discovered the joy of weaving and am designing and weaving one of a kind handwoven items on the farm. We each have professions outside of the farm as well. Lance is the principal and high school teacher at Upper Cumberland Christian Academy and I am a pediatrician in a multi-physician primary care practice located in Byrdstown, TN. We have been blessed with two precious sons, Quinn and Zeke. We are active in our local church, especially in the music ministry. We give GOD all the glory for blessing us with our family, professions and our farm.
