Ragnar has an outstanding mix of color and high quality lineage on both sides of his pedigree which make him a truly exceptional deal. Ragnar's sire is Starsky By Snowmass Enlightenment -the award winning light silver grey herdsire, and his grandsire is the stunning and magnificent grey stud Snowmass Enlightenment, both exceptional multiple reserve and ribbon winning champions. Ragnar's great grandparents are the infamous and elite Herdsire of the Year 2006/2007 - Snowmass XXXtreme and great granddam Snowmass Silver Star (a Peruvian Casanova daughter).
Secret's Peruvian Cactus Blossom is Ragnar's dam. She is a ribbon winning foundation dam who has consistently produced color champion winners. Her herdsire is MFI Cactus Jack (7x color champion, 14x blue ribbons), son of Jeronimo (Magical Farms stud, who has produced over 50 offspring with color champion ribbons) and grandson of CPeruvian Silvio (industry record setting grey offspring, and the industry leader in championship offspring and standard setting for fleece characteristics). Also noteworthy in the pedigree on Secret's side are PPeruvian Guellermo, PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, and 6Peruvian Royal Gold genetics. Ragnar has an outstanding mix of color and high quality lineage from both sides of his pedigree.
Ragnar's conformation is excellent. He is an average sized male with average weight. He has an above average bone size. He has a square frame with a balance of 1/3 neck/head/body/and legs. He also has full fleece coverage from head to toes. He has a full fleeced typey head and a very sweet dark face.
Personality wise Ragnar is "one of the boys" a good herdmate. He is not aggressive toward the other males, but will stand his ground if pushed. He establishes his spot for eating grain but will easily move to other spots for hay. He is halter trained, leads and halters easily and overall is easy to work with. He is very good around kids and is curious toward all humans.
Ragnar's fleece is a dark velvety true black color, with good density, a medium frequency crimp structure from skin to fleece tip, and a soft buttery handle. Ragnar's fleece makes up into exquisite next to skin high quality yarns.
While not yet shown or breeding, we expect great things from Ragnar this year!
