Jack is a dark brown/bay black male with a great pedigree, fleece, and sweet personality - a fantastic combination for any breeding program. Jack is the son of Micah s Chocolate, grandson of Othello and great-grandson of PPeruvian Camilio. He also has Peruvian Geronimo, Zorro, PPeruvian Guellermo, Peruvian Tarragon, and 4Peruvian Andean Gold on his sire's side. On his dam s side are Snowmass Andean Bronze and Ameripaca's Achilles, 5Peruvian Elle, and Acero Markas Champ. Fantastic, award winning pedigree full of color too!
Jack won a third place at the 2009 GWAS halter show, one of the most competitive shows we've seen yet. He also took second place at the halter show at ABR's 2009 Fall Fest and second place in the Bred and Owned Yearling production class at the 2009 Fall Fest.
He has beautiful, dark brown fiber but his skin is a little on the dry side which results in occasional flaky skin. His fleece has a rich color, a below average crimp, but above average density. Feels like his micron is under 20. His fleece makes a beautiful yarn and sells very well on our ranch. The finished yarn is nice and soft.
Jack also has a sweet personality and a laid back personality. His conformation is good with straight legs, and a mostly proportionate body. He has a bit longer torso that we would like compared to his shorter stature. This is great if you are looking for a male a little on the smaller side for your breeding females.
Jack halters and leads easily, but is a little timid around other males. He is fairly low on the "pecking order" of males and we have not observed any play fighting instigated by him with his herdmates.
In 2017 Jack produced a very nice female cria. He would be a wonderful male to add to any breeding program because of his soft fleece, sweet personality, and excellent genetics.
