WHEN YOU WANT THE BEST...rnrnThis bred female looks just like the vicunas of her native Chile. Her micron count is 17.1 and she is currently bred to a Paco-Vicuna with a fiber diameter of 20 microns. (Twelve & 14 microns are common.)Vicunas can not be exported (International Law) so the only way we can get the vicuna characteristics into our North American herds is to select individual alpacas that have the desired traits. By carefully selected breedings and importations of South American bloodlines, we can eventually develop a breed with the best traits of both the alpaca and the vicuna.
