Emery can be purchased separate from Sapphire but for now needs to stay with his mom until after weaning, about six months of age. His price will increase to $500 once weaned.

Straight and very strong from birth. We found Emery nearly dry in the pasture next to the girl's paddock just after sunrise; ucho, he had slipped under the gate. When found, he jumped up and started running around not in the least impaired by what I think is a traumatic experience for a cria (newborn alpaca). Mom and cria were immediately joined but showing signs of confusion caused by the separation. They spent the next two days together with Geneva and Tuff and away from their herdmates. Emery is about a week old now and is already instigating trouble with his 3-week old friend Tuff. They have cria races around the pasture and I'm not sure who's the fastest but who cares when you're having so much fun!!! Emery is a rock made mostly of corundum; we know the gem quality corundum as Sapphire or Ruby. Being Sapphire's son, his name fits nicely.
