Derby was my first alpaca friend and is very special. Derby was rescued by my vet when he was a year old. He was not is good shape, yet with love and care is he now fat and happy. He has lived on our farm for 10 years now and has never given us an ounce of trouble. He is health and in general is an easy keeper. He is shy and prefers to just watch you from a distance, yet he will walk on a lead with a patient and loving handler. He is not a big fan of having his toe nails cut, yet he only needs them cut twice a year, shearing and in the fall (they don't grow fast). Derby is gelded and we have had him living with both males and females with no problems at all. He never fusses or fights with other animals. Derby is a very special boy to me and we are sad to let him, and the rest of our herd go. We have to move into an apartment setting and can't take them with us. Please help us find a hope for this special boy and the rest of his friends. If you can take him, we can help arrange transport. He must go to a good home only. thank you, blessings.
