Update: April, 2016- Rhapsody loves to run the fence with our Shelties... She likes to give them a sniff and run... jumping in the air!
Miss Rhapsody Rose is a gorgeous silver gray Huacaya female and a real sweetheart! She has award winning gray genetics, soft fleece, and is weaned and halter trained.
Rhapsody's sire is 5th generation gray Sir Gibson, the son of the multi-ribbon winner Michaels Giavanni and granson of the grandson of the famous multi-champion gray Sterling Apocalypse. These genetics are loaded with silver gray genetics, including Legacy of Bolivia (LSG); Silverado (DSG); Silver Medley (MSG); Kash (MSG); Excaliber (LSG); and Money Maker (LSG)
Rhapsody's dam is Cassidy, our gray foundation female out of Quasar (the grandsire of the 2016 Nationals gray blue ribbon winner Court Jester) and grand-daughter of the industry setting gray Saquille. Add in the gray genetics of her granddam Mariette Hartley and you can see the strength of gray in Rhapsody!
This power house of gray genetics on both her sire and dam's sides make Rhapsody a truly exceptional female with a propensity for producing remarkable gray crias!
Rhapsody has medium to dark silver gray fleece, that has a soft, creamy feel with great density. Her fleece has a medium frequency crimp with a very high comfort factor. It is truly exceptional and will make outstanding yarn. Her fleece length (almost 5 inches!) will be great to be used by hand spinners, knitters,or crafters, This will make some nice next to skin finished products. Interested in showing? Rhapsody will catch the eye of the judges!
With an even symmetry of neck/head, body and legs, Rhapsody stands with a square stance, even spaced and balanced on all 4 legs. She is average size and weight with an above average bone structure.
Rhapsody likes to investigate anything new and gets along well with both her buddies in the paddock. She picks the same eating spot, but will move to other spots looking for the most tasty hay. She is halter trained and easy to handle on lead, and gentle to care for. She likes to run ... especially when our dogs are walking the fence line.
We expect that Rhapsody will be a solid foundation female based on her dam's production and great mothering instincts. She would be best bred to a stud who carries good density and a small to medium crimp, to compliment her already excellent qualities.
Rhapsody is great for someone wanting to show or add to/upgrade their breeding program with established, proven gray genetics.
Watch Rhapsody grow into an outstanding gray dam, enjoy her personality and make some next to skin products with her fleece!
