Welcome to Southern Son Peruvian Suri Alpacas and thanks for checking us out. We are a small alpaca breeder in Illinois, but we make up for it with the big-time quality of our suri alpacas. Our little herd is home to some of the best suri alpacas in the country, including the 2011 National Champion Black Suri Male, GLR Blackout.
Raising alpacas is more than just a business to us. For us, starting an alpaca farm was about doing something positive by raising environmentally-conscious livestock and striving to raise the quality of suri alpaca breed and fiber through excellent and responsible husbandry.
Check Out Our New Website! We have an all new look and are ready to enjoy another great year in the alpaca business. In 2013 we will see the first crias from our National Champion GLR Blackout hit the ground. After a year off for the birth of our daughter, we are making our spring breeding decisions and anxiously awaiting for warm weather to come so we can start making more of our incredible suri alpacas!
